Inclusion is about making sure everyone feels welcome and valued, regardless of their background, their capabilities, or their limitations. The feeling of belonging should never be denied to anyone. It is a basic human need.
You don’t have to agree with what people think to learn from HOW they think. You don’t have to share their identity to be curious about what SHAPED it. Treating people with kindness is a prerequisite for discovering more about them and yourself.
Diversity makes for a rich tapestry in our human experience. We must understand that all the threads of the tapestry are equal in value and without one it would not be the same.
It’s hard to keep an open mind if you don’t have an open heart.
