John Joey Mello, 64, was taken into custody and charged with two felonies in connection to the murder of Christina Parcell, the mother of his daughter. Mello's arrest came after his friend, Zachary Hughes, confessed to murdering Parcell on the stand at his murder trial. Hughes testified that Mello offered to pay him to murder Parcell but he declined the offer.
