In this episode, Barrister Helen Davison interviews Brett Charrington, a King’s Counsel in this episode.  Brett discusses the case of Gardiner v Doerr and its appeal, where his client, Ms Gardiner, successfully sued her former husband, Mr Doerr for personal damages resulting from a sexual assault.  Mr Doerr had previously been acquitted of the same assault in a criminal trial.

Brett and Helen highlight the connection between family and domestic violence law and personal injury law and equip family lawyers with the “need to know” information when clients disclose information which could form the basis of a personal injury claim against their spouse.
