जनपदचिकित्सालयस्य पुरतः उपविश्य शाकविक्रयणं करोति काचित् वृद्धा बिन्नीबाई इति । चिकित्सालये स्थलाभावात् सञ्चारभूमौ शयनं कुर्वतः रोगिणः दृष्ट्वा सन्तापम् अनुभवन्ती सा मुख्यवैद्याधिकारिणं रोगिणां व्यवस्थां कल्पयितुं शक्यते वा इति पृच्छति । धनाभावात् सर्वकारः प्रकोष्ठनिर्माणे अनासक्तः इति ज्ञात्वा सा स्वस्य ग्रामभूमिं विक्रीय, सञ्चितं धनमपि संयोज्य दशलक्षं रूप्यकाणि वैद्याय ददाति । ततः महता वेगेन प्रकोष्ठनिर्माणं जातं, 'बिन्नीबाई वार्ड्' इति नाम्ना निर्दिष्टं च ।

An old woman named Binnibai sitting in front of a hospital selling vegetables, sees patients lying on the ground because there is not enough space and feels sorry for them. She asks the chief doctor if it’s possible to provide better accommodation for them. The doctor tells her that the government can’t build new rooms because of a lack of money. So, Binnibai decides to sell her land and donates ten lakh rupees to help. With her donation, a new ward was built and named 'Binnibai Ward' in her honour.
