Human radiation experiments were conducted by the US government from 1944 to 1974, using thousands of human subjects without their informed consent, to study the effects of radiation for military and medical purposes.

These experiments were kept secret and involved both GIs and civilians, some of whom were injected with plutonium. In 1994, President Clinton formed a committee to investigate and report on these experiments, and to make recommendations to prevent future abuses.
