The New York Mets jumped all over Miami Marlins' Starter Sixto Sanchez early, unloading for four runs in the first inning, Brandon Nimmo crushed a two out, two-run home run in the ninth inning to pad the lead, and they blew it open from there in a 7-3 win to avoid the three-game sweep in the 305.

Tyrone Taylor and Harrison Bader had two hits and two RBI's apiece for the Mets, who scored 17 runs in the last two games of the series. 

The Marlins chipped away throughout the game, as Sanchez settled down and their bullpen continued their outstanding work, holding the Mets scoreless until the ninth, but the Mets got to Anthony Bender in the ninth to blow it open. Bender had pitched seven consecutive scoreless outings before today. 

Dane Myers hit a two-run home run, and Christian Bethancourt added a solo shot for Miami, as the Marlins (15-33) were looking for their second sweep in their last four home series. 

The Marlins have still won five of their last seven games. They welcome in the Milwaukee Brewers for a three-game series starting tomorrow at Loan Depot Park. First pitch is at 6:40pm, with Ryan Weathers on the mound for the Marlins.
