Dane Myers smashed a 420-foot, two-run home run in the seventh inning, lifting the Miami Marlins over the Chicago White Sox 4-3, snapping the Marlins' 5-game losing streak, and evening this three-game series at a game apiece.

Myers had three hits and three RBI's for Miami, (31-58) Xavier Edwards had two hits and a run scored, and Vidal Brujan added an RBI and a run scored. 

Edwards and Brujan's RBI singles came against White Sox ace Garrett Crochet, one of the hottest names on the MLB trade market. 

Huascar Brazoban (1-1) struck out five over two scoreless innings, A.J. Puk pitched a perfect eighth and Tanner Scott closed with a perfect ninth to nail it down and pick up his 13th save. 

The White Sox led 3-0 after RBI doubles by Gavin Sheets and Andrew Vaughn in the third inning. But the Marlins held the Sox Chicago, which has the worst record in the majors at 26-65, was held hitless the rest of the way and struck out a total of 13 times. 

Crochet- just 25 years old- gave up two runs and five hits with three walks and five strikeouts in what might have been his last game with the ChiSox. 

Marlins starter Yonny Chirinos allowed three runs and six hits in five innings. The 30-year-old right-hander walked one and struck out five. 

The two teams play the rubber game of this three-game series tomorrow, with Marlins’ RHP Edward Cabrera coming off the IL to face White Sox RHP Jonathan Cannon. First pitch is set for 1:40 pm ET.
