Today, I am blessed to have here with me Dr. Donald Vega. He is a registered dietitian, strength and conditioning specialist, and lifestyle mentor based in Costa Rica with more than 24 years of experience in health education.

Dr. Vega, the founder of Kilosophy, was established with one vision: “reversing the metabolic disease through a fit, happy and healthy society.” They provide programs for overweight, diabetic, hypertensive, endurance and fitness patients. 

Specializes in low carb, carnivore, and keto lifestyles and has been in nutritional ketosis since 2011. He has helped over 8,000 patients to improve their lives and lose over 176,000 pounds of extra fat through their interventions in the clinics.

In this episode, Dr. Donald Vega talks about getting involved in the health and nutrition space. [01:45] Why Dr. Donald Vega Got Involved In The Health and Nutrition Space  

  • Dr. Vega wanted to study medicine to be recognized. Eventually, he realized this would not be fulfilling. 
  • Dr. Vega’s mom had type 2 diabetes. After studying nutrition, Dr. Vega advised his mom to eat fewer carbs and more fats. 
  • After four months, his mom was able to reverse her type 2 diabetes.
  • Eventually, Dr. Vega started a service where he trained people three times a week at the gym and would explain what lifestyle changes his clients should pursue. 
  • Dr. Vega doesn’t only teach his clients about diet and exercise; he teaches all about mindset, self-sabotage, and the subconscious mind.
