Can Pregnant Women Practice Intermittent Fasting?
No, pregnant women should not practice intermittent fasting. If you’re throwing up and you can’t eat, then in some sense, you are fasting. However, your number one priority should be nutrition. Find food that you don’t throw up. There are other tools that you can magnify once you are pregnant. For instance, you will pass down your microbiome to your child. So, you need to understand what supports a healthy microbiome. Pregnancy is an excellent time for fermented foods. Also, keep in mind what you are putting on your skin; make sure all your products are very clean. Overall, there are tons to unpack for the pregnant woman to have a healthy pregnancy, and fasting is not the tool you want to be leaning into.
