Today, Larry goes one on onewith Oaklawn Park  Handicapper Nancy Holthus , who discusses and handicaps some of tomorrow’s race card, including the $1,250.000 Grade 2 Rebel Stakes, a Kentucky Derby points race and considered a prep for the Arkansas Derby on March 29th. Nancy also discusses the weather  in Hot Springs , Arkansas and why it is the cause for the Rebel being run on Sunday instead of its usual  Saturday . She also discusses the path she took to get into Broadcasting and eventually working at Oaklawn Park and also talks about two other Stakes events on the Sunday card, the Razorback and the Honeybee Stakes .; Cujo Entertainment’s Curtis MacDonald, part of the MacDonald  Harness Racing family, who talks about his company and mentions some of the  projects that he has been able to work on including several local sports leagues. He also discusses what it meant to win an O’Brien Award a couple of weeks back for Media Excellence and talks about the initiative in depth and the content that was judged to be best and why he feels the content was judged higher than previous years and to qualify for the O’Brien win this year. He also discusses his roots to the MacDonald family and how he followed his brother Lloyd into the technical side of the Harness Racing business.; Chiefswood Stable’s  General Manager Robert Landry , who sums up the 2024 racing season and talks about some of the horses that will be racing back for Chiefswood later this year. For our new listeners, Robert outlines his position as General Manager and what it entails and mentions  the various divisions that make up Chiefswood Stables. As a Hall of Fame retired Jockey, Robert talks about what it was like to ride back when he was at his peak as a Jockey and when he was starting out, whether there were any Jockey’s that maybe acted as mentor of sorts and helped along his career.
