Within a few years, he built a successful mortgage company and real estate investment company. As markets changed, Benson adapted quickly by moving into the REO market, focusing on helping investors buy foreclosed homes. His early entrepreneurial success gave him the resources to begin angel investing, and he later co-founded Clout, a Los Angeles-based fintech start-up. Benson also spent eight years in the Air Force National Guard, where he graduated top of his class from the Military Police Academy. Benson’s post-9/11 overseas tours solidified his interpersonal skills for building rapport with a diverse range of people. Benson earned his bachelor’s degree from Colorado State University in computer information systems.
