Description
Supernatural Season 7, Episode 23, Survival of the Fittest recap 🦴 It’s the Season 7 finale: one bone, three bloods, and way too many Dicks on Denim-wrapped Nightmares, a Supernatural rewatch podcast.
The boys have their weapon and their game plan, and Crowley has a contract with Dick Roman that’s six feet long and redlined to death. Everything comes down to finding the right Dick. Plus, the hosts debut a brand-new cocktail, the Blood Splooge: vodka, XXX Vitamin Water, and a splash of cranberry.
Episode Highlights:
- A Carry On Wayward Son “road so far,” because what else would it be?
- Crowley and Dick redline a six-foot contract (Canada is on the table)
- “Let’s bone this nun,” and Dean’s immediate apology
- Bobby takes Louise the maid on a very long, very rainy errand
- Meg is back and done with Cas: “He was your boyfriend first”
- Cas gifts the boys hand-collected honey, and BLTs made from a pig he comforted first
- Dick in a Box, and a whole building full of Dicks
- Sam’s dead-weight scoop, which Berly rates hotter than the Charlie carry
- Twister for one, board games stolen from the psych ward’s day room, and Baby comes out of retirement
- Goldilocks and the three Dicks, blood splooge #59, and a stack of cliffhangers
Written by Sera Gamble and directed by Robert Singer. Berly wouldn’t have guessed either of them, especially after an uncomfortable and unnecessary undressing scene with a very young-looking woman. Still, both hosts call it a satisfying finale. LA loved quirky Cas, and Berly never saw the Crowley twists coming. They both wish Susan had been used more. It won’t be a season favorite, but it closes the Leviathan arc nicely.
In the lore segment, LA covers the Watseka Wonder from American Hauntings, the most famous ghost possession in American history. In 1877, an Illinois teen named Lurancy Vennum started falling into trances and was nearly sent to an asylum. Then Asa Roff, whose daughter Mary had died in an asylum years earlier, stepped in. With a doctor named Winchester (!) present, Lurancy announced she was Mary Roff, and she lived as Mary for five months. Astonishing Legends has a two-part deep dive. Plus, a tribute to the real Sister Mary Constant: a Bernardine sister, Villanova graduate, and medical technologist who lived to 91.
“Dick made more Dicks.” – Sam
