The Minnesota Wild improved to 5-0-2 after beating the Tampa Bay Lightning 4-2 on Thursday night on the road. The Wild had their streak of not trailing to start the season end, but grabbed an early 1-0 lead in the game thanks to a goal from Kirill Kaprizov. The Lightning scored the next two goals to take a 2-1 lead in the late stages of the second period, but Joel Eriksson Ek scored the tying goal to send the game to the second intermission tied at 2-2. Matt Boldy scored on the Power Play in the 3rd to give the Wild a 3-2 lead, and Kirill Kaprizov added an empty netter, his second goal of the game to seal the win. The Wild were 1/4 on the Power Play and 1/1 on the Penalty Kill, but did give up a shorthanded goal in the game. Marc-Andre Fleury stopped 24-25 shots to pick up the win. The Wild head to Philadelphia for their next game to take on the Flyers on Saturday at noon.
