SEC and Big Ten moving to change college football as we know it

Description

Ross Dellenger of Yahoo! Sports reported Monday momentum is building to further expand the College Football Playoff to 14 or 16 teams.

The new format would assign multiple automatic qualifiers per league and finalize a scheduling arrangement between the two power conferences that could fetch millions in additional revenue from TV partners.

But where does it end? The Ole Miss Spirit’s Ben Garrett and On3 national college football analyst JD PicKell are just trying to preserve the spirit of the thing. The suits in power, though, are only ever after the almighty dollar.

Pickell joins this edition of ‘Talk of Champions,’ powered by RiverLand Roofing, to discuss the potential seismic shakeup, as well as PicKell’s way-too-early College Football Playoff projections for 2025. Now-Austin-Simmons-led Ole Miss football wasn’t included. Fine; the Rebels are replacing 18 of 22 starters.

But is the ceiling closer to 7 or 10 wins next season?
