I can’t say that I’ve ever seen the world react to a celebrity passing the way we have to the untimely death by suicide of Stephen "tWitch" Boss. Personally, the last two days have given me the gift of a new perspective. I am changed because of it. I see things differently. I will never ask “why?” or “how could they do that?” again. 

Yes, we need to de-stigmatize discussions around depression, anxiety and suicide ideation — but it’s more than that. We need to educate those of us who don’t understand it so we can show up differently. We have to lift the shame and guilt that people feel when they experience depression. 

There are many in this community who, in fact, felt the dark, damp heavens of depression and have generously opened up about their inner demons. Today, I'll share a few of those with you. 

So, it is my hope that this episode helps those who say, “It just doesn’t make sense” to have a deeper appreciation and understanding. And my prayer is that it makes those of you who have been there feel seen.
