Fetal Echogenic bowel is a non-specific finding observed during 0.2 to 1.8% of routine second trimester ultrasound. Possible causes include primary gastrointestinal pathology, aneuploidy, cystic fibrosis, and congenital viral infection. However, most fetuses with this finding, especially when isolated, have no detectable abnormality.
