Letting the Light In through the Witness State
Description
The poet Rumi wrote: “The crack is the place where the light gets in.” This is also quoted as “The wound is the place where the light enters you.” Yet when the outer surface of a wound heals, it is covered over with scar tissue, which tends to be tougher and harder to penetrate than the surrounding area. We tend to favor the parts of ourselves that have been hurt, guarding and protecting them from further harm. And in protecting them from harm, we build walls and barriers so tight that they also keep the light out. But letting the light in through these well-protected barricades can bring the most profound healing. This is what we’re exploring in today’s Prayer & Healing Circle. We use the Divine Attribute, Ash-Shahid, the Witness to penetrate the scar tissue and bring self-awareness and light to the innate truth inside ourselves. You’re invited to join us.
