COVID-19 is a disease that attacks the lungs. In severe cases, the lungs are unable to get oxygen into the blood stream and release carbon dioxide. This is the same disease of our planet right now. It’s a disease many of us have been ignoring or denying or feeling like we don’t have the power to correct. Just like in our human lives, when we ignore worsening conditions, the body will throw up a flag or create a crisis that forces us to stop and pay attention. Now, our Earth has thrown up a flag that has caused us to stop and pay attention. We’ve been forced to make changes that are finally enough to begin to reduce CO2 levels and restore clean air and fresh waters. We cannot go back to the way things were and expect to continue as a species. We need to heal our lungs – collective humanity and the planet – and we need to adjust our lifestyles so that we stop doing what has been creating conditions for disease…
