My spiritual teacher used to say, “Do not stop with any outside pictures. See the Face of God in everything.” 

"Everything?" "Yes, everything." "But what about..."

This includes everything outside ourselves and everything inside ourselves. And everything is One.

This means no separation, no you versus me, no judgment of better-worse, higher-lower, worthy-unworthy, right-wrong.

The poet Rumi wrote:

“Out beyond ideas of right-doing and wrong-doing,

there is a field. I’ll meet you there.

When the soul lies down in that grass,

the world is too full to talk about

ideas and language.

Even the phrase ‘each other’

doesn’t make any sense.”

One key to the question, “How can I know You?” is to never assume you do, to approach everything with the eye of wonder which originates in the heart of the seeker – and then ask, “Who seeks? Who sees? What is here to be revealed?”
