Episode 1174
In Episode 1170, Sean Woodley is joined by Vivek Jacob (Raptors.com) to kick off this year's Season In Review series of episodes with a look at the big picture takeaways from a successful 2021-22 Toronto Raptors season. Off the top, they dig into the biggest positive takeaways from the season that was, including the realization that Vision 6'9 seems like a viable team-building model, even if some tinkering probably needs to be done with the roster to ensure the Raptors have more than one note to hit when things matter most. Next, they talk about some of the negative takeaways from the season that should inform the Raptors' off-season decision-making, including the glaring lack of depth in the middle and back parts of the roster and the need for extra shooting in the mix, in addition to Fred VanVleet's health and the ways the Raptors can go about protecting him from breaking down in future seasons. Then to close out the show, Sean and Vivek introduce the Stat of the Year and Play of the Year segments that will run through the Season in Review series. In the Stat of the Year portion, Sean and Vivek talk about the Raptors; record against teams over .500, as well as the curious +0.5 NET Rating for the Raptors most talented and most-used lineup. In the Play of the Year, Pascal Siakam and Scottie Barnes shine.
