Episode 1250
In Episode 1244, Sean Woodley is joined by Samson Folk (Raptors Republic) to preview the season of Toronto Raptors big man Precious Achiuwa and talk about what makes him such an intriguing and important developmental piece for the Raps this season. Off the top, they chat about the late-season progress Achiuwa made last year, particularly in the three-point shooting department, and whether that small sample success is something Achiuwa can carry over to Year 2 with the team. They also examine the big question regarding Precious: should he start over Gary Trent Jr.? Next, they dig into what makes Precious such an excellent defender, and why he could be the key to open up a more diverse and adaptive defense scheme for Nick Nurse, who of course stuck largely with a hyper-aggressive game plan for much of 2021-22. To wrap up, they examine the areas on offense in which Achiuwa will have to improve in order to really hit his high end potential and make Toronto's best, longest lineups work. To wrap, Samson gives his read on where the Raptors slot into this year's Eastern Conference and what a successful season for the Raptors might look like.
