What have we learned about the Raptors in the preseason so far? w/ Jamar Hinds

Episode 1263

In Episode 1257, Sean Woodley is joined by Jamar Hinds (Raptors Republic) to talk about what they have learned about the Toronto Raptors over the course of their first four preseason games. Off the top, Sean and Jamar agree very much that Dalano Banton's gotta play based on the strength of his preseason. Who's the odd man out if Banton steals a rotation spot? And how can he help if he's a more prominent part of the team? Next, Sean talks about how he thinks he's learned that it's going to take some time for the Scottie Barnes on-the-ball experiement to bear fruit consistently, and why that's OK because there are other ways to use him to great effect -- like, for example, as a pick-and-roll screener when playing with the starters. Jamar then talks about the encouraging signs we've seen as it relates to the Raptors' management of Fred VanVleet's workload. Lastly, Jamar talks about how continuity should help the Raptors to get off to a quick start, and Sean details why he's a little concerned about how important Otto Porter Jr. seems to be. Plus, some quick thoughts on OG Anunoby's preseason!
