Jonathan Marchessault's third hat trick of the season led VGK to a 5-3 win over the Detroit Red Wings Saturday night and broke a four-game losing streak for the Golden Knights. Marchessault potted the game winner at 17:16 of the third period. The Golden Knights saw Detroit come back to tie the score twice in the contest. VGK had the early jump they were looking for as they scored the first two goals of the game. But Detroit kept battling back. The Golden Knights should have put the game away sooner.
