In a published report in the Las Vegas Review-Journal, Jonathan Marchessault, VGK's prized free agent, to the paper that he hasn't heard from the Golden Knights and that the team didn't want to negotiate a new deal before the start of the past season. We have to ask if any negotiations with Marchessault would be through media reports. Kelly McCrimmon said last month that he wouldn't be discussing any updates in talks between the two sides. McCrimmon also said he had been actively in talks with Marchessault's agent, Pat Brisson. We also look at the track record of VGK free agents that have left the organization.
