The Golden Knights will open the new season Wednesday night against a familiar foe, the Colorado Avalanche. Neither team had a good preseason, but both teams are hoping they cleaned up some areas of their game. The Golden Knights worked on pace this week and situational hockey. Bruce Cassidy wants his team to get out to a quick start as they have the past two seasons. VGK will start the season with center William Karlsson on the I.R.
