Cheer up

If you tell someone to cheer up, you are encouraging them to feel happier or less sad. It’s a friendly and supportive phrase that we use when someone is feeling down. You can also cheer someone up, which means doing something nice to improve their mood.

Examples:

1- When I failed my driving test, my brother took me out for ice cream to cheer me up!

2- My friend was sad because she lost her phone. I said, 'Cheer up! At least now you don’t have to answer work calls!
