The electronic french duo Daft Punk put out their debut record, Homework, in 1997 after a couple of successful singles, including Da Funk, started a bidding war between record labels to sign the young DJs. The album has gone on to achieve iconic status for how the duo expertly tied the past to the future by revitalizing house music and paving the way for the surge in popularity that EDM would soon see in the coming decades.
