Burnout, Productivity, Parenthood & Patriarchy: A Conversation with Ali Ryan and Marissa McKool

Episode 240 Published 4 years, 2 months ago
Description

People socialized as women are particularly susceptible to suffering from the burnout our entire country seems to be dealing with. That’s because they’re taught from an extremely young age that they have to take care of everyone else before they take care of themselves.

This week I’m joined by two of my Advanced Certification in Feminist Coaching students, Ali Ryan and Marissa McKool, as we look closely at how we define burnout and uncover the roles patriarchy and productivity play in it.

Tune in to learn how you can begin to heal your burnout by figuring out what your unconscious commitments are and by identifying thought patterns about your to-do list at home, and how changing your thoughts around rest (while it may feel terrible at first) can help you prevent future burnout.

What’s really blocking you from speaking up?

You already suspect you hold back from asking for what you want or telling the truth about how you feel. But did you know that there are three main Speak Up Barriers that prevent women from getting what they want in life? This free quiz shows you which one is causing you the most trouble, so you can finally ask for the raise, ask for the help, and have that conversation you’ve been rehearsing in the shower.
