The Pittsburgh Steelers beat the Cincinnati Bengals 44-38 Sunday at PayCor Stadium with Russell Wilson and Najee Harris leading the way on offense. Christopher Carter dives in on why their balance was a great sign for Mike Tomlin's team. George Pickens, Pat Freiermuth, Jaylen Warren, Calvin Austin and Cordarrelle Patterson all played big roles for the Steelers' win.
The Steelers' defense also made some big plays with T.J. Watt moving around and getting two sacks, while also causing a turnover. Combined with Nick Herbig's strip-sack fumble that turned into a Payton Wilson touchdown and Cam Heyward's tipped pass that turned into a Donte Jackson interception, the front had a good day. Joey Porter Jr., not so much. But it was enough to get the job done.
Finally, the Steelers sit atop the AFC North with a 1.5-game lead over the Ravens and the Bengals and Cleveland Browns basically out of the race. Are the Steelers the real AFC contenders they appear to be?
