It was a short strike, but it gave Americans a taste of what restraint of trade looks like, and how consumers and businesses respond to it. This should be kept in mind if Trump’s imposes tariffs. Tariffs are a tax on Americans (not China, or anyone else). Tariffs also restrain trade and drive up prices, while handing more of our earnings to DC. Don’t they take enough from us?
