Lydia Choorapuzha with the Trio Sine Nomine

Academy Concerts is hosting Trio Sine Nomine on February 23rd! Violinist of the Trio Sine Nomine, Lydia Choorapuzah, spoke about the program for the concert. There will be compositions by Beethoven, Hoffmeister, Piazzola, and Mozart. Lydia discusses the pieces they will perform, and how Piazzola has become more of a prominent composer in recent years for chamber musicians. Lydia also talks about her work as a violinist, starting at Boston University under Peter Zazofsky. She highlights her travels abroad, including to Berlin, Germany and later in life India. She moved to Minnesota after graduating from the State University of New York College Purchase, and started working with the Minnesota Opera Orchestra. After moving to Pittsburgh, she started focusing on teaching. She currently teaches privately and with Pittsburgh Youth Concert Orchestra in Wexford. She also helps her husband with his dental practice! You can hear Trio Sine Nomine perform beautiful pieces at the Allegheny Unitarian Universalist Church on Sunday, February 23rd at 7 pm.
