Snow blanketed the ground of St. Mary’s Churchyard School, London, Ontario, on 6 January, 1956. Susan Cadieux was playing outside the school with her two brothers when an unknown man approached them. The boys were momentarily distracted by a little girl who had slipped on the ice. When they turned back, Susan and the man had vanished into the frigid night air.
