In this episode you will learn the Slovak personal pronouns and how to use them.
If you ever wondered about the first, very important and significant ruler of the Slovak nation, you will get a short historical information about him and his empire. Today's fun fact is about him too, as well as the legend in the second half of this show.

Episode Notes

This episode is full of the early history of what is now known as Slovakia. First, I am talking about Great Moravia, the first known kingdom  of the Western Slavic tribes. I'll then move on to talking about it's greatest ruler named Svätopluk. Somewhere in between is my personal story about digging out the Great Moravia rotunda in my hometown of Michalovce.

Ja som američan.            I am an American (Masc.)
Ty si američanka.            You are an American. (Fem.)       
On je slovák.                      He is a Slovák (Masc.)      
Ona je slovenka.              She is a Slovák (Fem.)      
My sme američania.      We are Americans. (Masc.-Pl.)
Vy ste američanky.         You are Americans. (Fem.-Pl.)
Oni sú slováci.                   They are Slovaks. (Masc.-Pl.)
Ony sú slovenky.              They are Slovaks. (Fem.-Pl.)

Informal conversation:  

Ahoj! (Hello!)
Ako sa máš? (How are you?)
Dobre, ďakujem. A ty? (Well, thanks. And you?)
Tak - tak. (So - so.)
Ako sa voláš? (What is your name?)
Volám sa Peter. (My name is Peter.)
Ja som Eva. (I am Eva.)
Teší ma. (Pleased to meet you.)  
Musím ísť. (I have to go.)
Čau. (Goodbye.)
