महावीरः नाम नरपतिः गान्धारदेशं पालयति स्म । विवेकिभिः उच्यते - ‘कालम् अवेक्ष्य एव नृपजनान् हितम् अहितं वा उपदेष्टव्यम् । अन्यथा उपदेष्टॄणाम् एव अपायः सम्भवेत्' इति । तत् सत्यम् इति अनया कथया ज्ञायते । को वा नृपम् उपदिष्टवान् ?  उपदेशानन्तरं किं प्राचलत् इत्यादयः विषयाः अस्यां कुतूहलकारिकथायां विद्यन्ते ।

King Mahavir ruled the land of Gandhara. The wise say, "A king should only be advised at the right time, or it may lead to harm for the advisors themselves."
