You’ve got a lot to do today. So you wake up. Get out of bed. Brush your teeth. Take a shower.

BAM! It hits you! Right in the shower.

No. Not the cold water.

An idea.

That idea didn’t hit you in bed where you were resting and comfortable. It shot to you while you were in motion.

Similarly, you don’t get into the flow of your craft by just chillin.

You get it by doing the craft. It’s like a train getting started.

It starts slow moving and gradually picks up speed. It continues to pick up speed and move and go.

Before you know it, it’s at full speed!

When you’re writing, you only get ideas from writing. So you’ll probably have a lot of stuff written that isn’t as good as you want.

When your taking photos, you only figure out that new way to make light art from going and trying random different things. That means you’ll have a bunch of blurry weird photos before hand.

When you’re painting, you only figure out that a brush doesn’t always have to be a brush. That means you’ll have a bunch of crappy paintings made with random stuff before you realize you can use your hand or even burning part of the canvas.

My point is, you have to try things. You have to get moving. You only get new ideas from doing the work and working on your craft.
