Episode Details

Today, we read in the gospel the account of the call of Simon, who was later renamed Peter while he beheld the goodness of Jesus in granting a miraculous catch of fish. So copious was the catch that even two boats straining to take in the overloaded nets were sinking. Simon recoiled in unworthiness and fear before the majesty of Jesus, that he asks Him to begone. But Jesus is never afraid of our miseries. He tells him not to be afraid. He tells us all the same thing. We have no right to distance ourselves from God. He is looking for us. Our sins? He forgives them. He is absolutely merciful. Furthermore, he counts on them to forgive them and to forge the incredible union between God and sinful creature. He counts on us to help Him in His redemptive mission. Take a listen to this wonderful encounter between the Creator and miserable creature.
