The Superseded Indictment Of Rex Heuerman (LISK Suspect) (Part 1) (2/8/25)

In December 2024, a superseding indictment was unsealed against Rex Heuermann, the alleged Gilgo Beach serial killer, charging him with the second-degree murder of Valerie Mack. Mack, a 24-year-old escort from Philadelphia, was last seen by her family in New Jersey in 2000. Her partial remains were discovered in Manorville, Long Island, in November 2000, with additional remains found near Gilgo Beach in 2011. She was identified through DNA analysis in 2020.

Prosecutors linked Heuermann to Mack's murder using DNA evidence, including hair found on Mack's remains that matched the genetic profile of Heuermann's daughter. Further searches of Heuermann's residence revealed newspaper clippings about the murders, which prosecutors suggest he kept as "souvenirs" of his alleged crimes. Heuermann, a 61-year-old architect from Long Island, has pleaded not guilty to all charges and is currently held without bail.
