Unfortunately, our society has conditioned us to believe that we must be happy all the time or there is a defect in our personality. Well guess what, it’s okay to feel sad. It’s okay to have REAL feelings even if they are not sunshine and rainbows.
Some things ARE sad. Like the loss of a loved one, a divorce, an addicted child, or even just a shitty day. Your feelings are valid. You aren’t being too sensitive, or dramatic. You are hurting.
Allow yourself to feel it. Sadness cracks you open to feeling. To feeling the pain. When you try to avoid the pain, it creates greater pain. So feel the feels so you can learn to be happy again.
