Good morning, DC! Buckle up for a wild winter weather ride today.
We've got a Winter Weather Advisory in effect, so listen up. This morning, expect a messy mix of snow and sleet before 3 PM, then transitioning to freezing rain and more snow. Temperatures will hover near a chilly 33 degrees Fahrenheit with a gentle southeast wind picking up to 5 to 7 miles per hour.
By this afternoon, we're looking at a potential light coating of snow and sleet less than half an inch thick. As the day progresses, precipitation will shift to rain after 4 PM.
Tonight brings a 80 percent chance of rain before 10 PM, with temperatures dropping to around 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The wind will start from the southeast and then switch to the west after midnight.
