- ICYMI: President Trump signed an executive order authorizing tariffs on imports from Canada, Mexico, and China.
- Mexico has agreed to deploy 10,000 troops to the U.S.-Mexico border in exchange for a one-month delay on Trump's threatened tariffs, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum said Monday. Sheinbaum made the announcement roughly 12 hours before the tariffs were set to take effect.
- Trump will pause additional tariffs on Canadian imports for 30 days after a call with PM Trudeau. Trudeau said Canada will implement a $1.3 billion border plan and appoint a fentanyl czar.
- Hundreds of US government websites were offline on Monday. From a list of nearly 1,400 federal sites, more than 350 were unavailable on Monday afternoon.
- A town hall meeting was organized by the Springfield NAACP to address concerns about recent policy changes made by President Trump and Missouri State University.
- Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer (D-N.Y.) said he didn’t know President Trump would “screw up so soon.”
