Israel: We Are For Peace, They Are For War
Description
: We are going to review the history that immediately led to the WORLD FINALLY ALLOWING ISRAEL to return to their promised land. At the end of WW1, the Muslim Ottoman Empire signed and armistice, and soon collapsed.
However, just earlier in 1917, as WW1 continued, The British Government wrote The Balfour Declaration expressing the intent to aid in the reestablishment of the state of Israel. This declaration reveals the long-understood fact that the ancient land of Israel rests in the territory that had been renamed Syria-Palestina under Roman Rule.
Under the succession of Empires, The Land of Israel was still undeveloped and barren. Even Mark Twain remarked on the desolation of the land in 1867, after visiting what has ALWAYS BEEN CALLED the HOLY LAND. Here are some excerpts from his 1869 book, Innocence Abroad, remarking on the vacant, wasteland of “Palestine” at that time noting all the traditional Bible names of the places he visited: IT IS A HOPELESS, DREARY, HEART-BROKEN LAND… PALESTINE SITS IN SACKCLOTH AND ASHES…DESOLATE AND UNLOVELY…”
AND SO AFTER WW1, IT CAME TIME FOR THE BRITISH TO DIVIDE THIS MISERABLE, desolate, ruined land, which had been MANDATED to them for this VERY TASK.
But INSTEAD of KEEPING their 1917 pledge for “the establishment in Palestine of a national home for the Jewish people,” and to “use their best endeavours to facilitate the achievement of this object.” INSTEAD, they BROKE IT.
WHY? Because by then, the Arabs were starting to discover oil in their lands, and THE ARABS DIDN’T WANT A JEWISH STATE. They DON’T WANT a 2 STATE SOLUTION. THEY HAVE TURNED DOWN EVERY OFFER.
That’s why instead of ACCEPTING the UN partition in 1947, which split the Palestine territory, ARABS REJECTED it.
And by UN Resolution 181, the Jewish people declared Israel an independent state on May 14,1947. And immediately, they were attacked on all sides.
Yet, as God promised, He has kept them, and they are flourishing, in spite of constant attacks from Iranian proxies all around them, and constant external, and internal threats from and angry Arab populace.
And so Israel must bear the burden of their enemies' hatred, as described in Psalm 120:6-7 My soul has dwelt too long With one who hates peace. 7 I [am for] peace; But when I speak, they [are] for war.
