The Respect for Marriage Act seems innocuous enough. Supporters say that it would codify same-sex marriage in America. But what would it really do? Religious leaders have warned that it would put individuals and institutions who abide by biblical teachings that marriage is between a man and a woman in the crosshairs of lawsuits and the government.
