'Self-help' has become a mis-used (but widely accepted) term for programs, products; services, workshops, books and even podcasts, selling (literally or metaphorically) ideas, concepts, techniques and tools but the 'actual helping of the self' (maybe we should call it 'self-helping') lives in the application, the action, the work, the effort, the sweat and the courage; the doing not just the knowing.
