George Filenko, the Police Chief of Round Lake Park, Illinois, retired on February 18, 2021, culminating his 37-year career in law enforcement. He had assumed the role of chief in Round Lake Park in August 1999 and played an instrumental part in the Lake County Major Crimes Task Force for 11 years, eventually becoming its commander for six years.
