  • This sermon highlights a key biblical distinction: when God sends angels, it often signifies imminent judgment, whereas when He sends humans, it means there is still hope for repentance. Through various scriptural examples, we see this pattern unfold.

    Angels as Signs of Judgment

In Genesis 19, God sent two angels to Sodom, not to warn but to execute judgment, as the city's wickedness had reached a point of no return. Similarly, in Exodus 12, the angel of death struck Egypt’s firstborn after Pharaoh repeatedly rejected opportunities for repentance. In Revelation 14, an angel proclaims the Gospel, signaling that judgment is near. These instances demonstrate that angelic visitations often mark the end of grace.

    Humans as Messengers of Hope

Contrastingly, God sends humans when hope remains. In Acts 12, Peter was miraculously freed from prison to continue witnessing. Jonah preached to Nineveh, leading the people to repentance. Prophets like Jeremiah were sent to call Israel back to God. Ultimately, Jesus, the greatest witness, was sent not to condemn the world but to offer salvation (John 3:16).

    Our Role as Witnesses

As followers of Christ, we are bearers of hope. The Great Commission (Matthew 28:19-20) entrusts us with spreading the Gospel while time remains. Romans 10:14 reminds us that people cannot believe unless they hear the message. While God is patient, 2 Peter 3:9 warns that judgment will eventually come. Therefore, we must urgently proclaim Christ, knowing that as long as we are sent, there is still hope for the lost.

This sermon challenges believers to embrace their role as witnesses, recognizing that every testimony is a light in a dark world.
