Season 1 Published 5 years ago
Description

In this 5-minute short segment of Brainy Moms, we shine the spotlight on Milena Nemecio, author of the children's book "Don't Stop Dreaming, Abby" about a girl who doesn't let her ADHD stop her from dreaming about her future.

About the book: Abby is a sweet little girl with big dreams. She faces challenges in school and has trouble making friends. Abby feels lonely and thinks something is wrong with her. No one, not even her family, seems to understand her or see that Abby is struggling with something unknown. A kind and patient teacher observes Abby and figures out what the trouble is. With her teacher's help, Abby overcomes her problem without having to stop dreaming.

About the author: Milena Nemecio lives in San Antonio, Texas, with her husband, Pedro and dog, Koda. Growing up, she often had trouble concentrating and completing tasks; the problem continued well into adulthood. She was diagnosed with ADHD at age 20, but it did not stop her from going to college and learning many languages. She hopes to become a teacher and help children with ADHD reach their goals.
