Music On the Bluff At Duquesne University

David Allen Wehr popped by the studio this morning to discuss with Jim Cunningham the latest Music on the Bluff Dean's List concert on January 26th. David plays two pieces from the program, Haydn's Piano Sonata in C Major, and Beethoven's Piano Sonata in A Major. He discusses why he created the Music On the Bluff Dean's List series. He also discusses the pre-concert discussion with Associate Professor of Music, Dr. Benjamin Binder. The concert will feature the songs of Samuel Barber, the pinnacle of art song. International singing stars, Sari Gruber and Randall Scarlata will join Dr. Binder in a cycle of Barber's Hermit Songs. David Allen Wehr will finish the program with some Debussy. David also talks about his routine in preparing to play the piano for twenty minutes, and the last concert of this season in February. The Dean's List Concert III - The Voice(s) will be on Sunday, January 26th from 3 pm to 5 pm at the Mary Pappert School of Music's PNC Recital Hall. Pre-concert discussion with Dr Benjamin Binder will be at 2:30pm.
