👨🏼‍⚖️A US court in Texas has overturned OFAC’s 2022 sanctions against Tornado Cash, a cryptocurrency mixing protocol accused of facilitating money laundering for the North Korean Lazarus Group. While the decision supports crypto privacy technologies, Tornado Cash developer Alexey Pertsev remains in custody, serving over five years for laundering $1.2 billion. The reversal follows an appeal by six users who argued that OFAC exceeded its authority by sanctioning immutable smart contracts, emphasizing the need for privacy in traceable blockchain transactions.

- A partnership with DRW's Cumberland enhances liquidity and adoption of both USDC and USYC. Circle also plans to deploy native USDC on the Canton blockchain, enabling secure, 24/7 financial transactions in TradFi. 🔮 CLS Global FZC, a UAE-based crypto firm, has pleaded guilty to market manipulation and wire fraud charges for engaging in "wash trading" to fake trading volumes for the NexFundAI token. The firm will pay $428,059 in fines and be banned from U.S. crypto markets. The SEC has also taken civil action. CLS Global must certify compliance with the ban annually.
