I believe Magic Johnson’s words also apply to adults as well. No one is an island, as the expression goes. No one succeeds alone.
At some point we all need a little help. We all need someone to encourage us and nurture our hope. We all need someone to believe in us.
I’ve been blessed throughout my life with great mentors who have given me these gifts. Pray that God brings these good people across your path. Embrace them when God does.
Finally, let us strive to give these to each other: a little help and a little hope. Let us be willing to believe in each other, particularly when they do not yet fully believe in ourselves.
