Episode Details

Keith and Laura discuss creativity, personal growth, and the importance of consistent action, while reflecting on their son's journey to learn guitar and his desire to create original music. They explore the idea that true originality is rare, and creativity often involves building upon existing influences and experiences.

Laura shares lessons from Austin Kleon's “The Steal Like an Artist Audio Trilogy.” Laura invites Keith to give his take on the ideas that stood out to her the most:

1. Creativity is a skill that can be learned and developed.

2. The most important thing is to keep creating and showing your work.

3. The creative process is messy and unpredictable.

Keith shares his thoughts on these topics and and his perspective on how to push forward to embrace the creative process, take consistent action, and share the work to generate personal growth and meaningful connections with others.
